I went to Chamonix for about 2 hours while staying in a village called Marcellaz about 2 hours away. Official Chamonix France shirt. It seemed like a vibrant and colourful town but when I was there there was a storm and it was just cloudy. I still want to go back though. It seemed lovely and picturesque even in the grey, gloomy storm. I went last summer. It really is breathtakingly beautiful and epic in all directions. I found the mountains to be a little overwhelming and intimidating when I first arrived, something about being surrounded by such great heights. I went last summer and although I do speak French it’s very easy to get by in English. People come from all over, especially hikers/backpackers in the summer. I heard lots of languages used and they’d switch to English to communicate with waiters and service people. Many menus were also in English for the same reason.

100+ miles/170 km if full route is done. But buses, trains, cable cars, side trails etc could be used to cut out much of that…Official Chamonix France shirt. The area in the photograph is near Brevent above Chamonix, you could do that right from the Brevent cable car station (as hundreds were in fact doing when we were there.). Yea, one of the reasons i am putting it towards 2020. I have a few trips to Norway and Sweden, and a casual trip to Chamonix beforehand. Very early August, first or second day of the month. It was a bit hotter than I would have liked but…can’t complain, we had only three partial days of rain in eleven spent hiking. The reverse would be more common in the Alps. Sounds beautiful. I’m considering going solo to Chamonix soon and I’m not an experienced hiker. Would you say this is too dangerous? I wasn’t planning to do TMB but maybe Lac Blanc from the ski lift and back.

I would say it’s not dangerous from July-September if properly planned for. Official Chamonix France shirt. Outside those months, you would encounter snow in the high passes, probably freezing temperatures. The ski lifts or gondolas will make the trip safer and easier. If you want to visit Lac Blanc, do it in September, the place was CRAZY crowded in August. Many non hikers do this trip. Stunning place though. And be sure to visit the second lake, the bigger one a short walk behind the first, it is much better. Haha yeah, i must of messed up the image overlaying, so the background video looks like its snowing in doors. My channel is mainly animating static images to create relaxation videos, and not had this problem before, not sure what i did wrong

Disagree. It’s hygge enough as looks warm, soft and clean/zen, with plenty of space. Official Chamonix France shirt. Cozy doesn’t have to be cramped or full of “things.” Cozy can be anything and is a relative concept, and we should decide what it is for ourselves. I appreciate how at the far end you can lay down at 45° instead of only 90° creating a nice position to lay down while still being able to look at the focus of the room comfortably. Yeah grandparents still live right outside chambery, under the nivolet. My dad is starting to make plans to move back to france because he’s sick and tired of sweden’s shit weather, or to quote him, “pays de merde!”
