Gen 1 was just to get an MVP out the door (minimum viable product) so they could start generating revenue asap. Marvel Venompool style Chibi shirt. They’ve basically been doing damage control since the release of the game, though it seems they (mostly) have a handle on the direction they want to go. At first, I thought I was the only one that thought Loki was a drag queen and gambit an ape. But technically speaking, Gambit appears to be a chimpanzee, not an ape. They released the first gen and have come to realize they’re severely OP. Now they’re releasing champs that will counter some of those first gen champs and won’t be OP. And they’re staying away from nerfing those OP champs because they’re afraid of the backlash. This is the better way to go unless a champ is grossly overpowered. Nobody likes nerfs, but a counter to a champ/node/whatever is a good alternative. Maybe together, but often they split off onto various other projects.

Maybe it’s just me but all the champs seem gimmicky and weak lately. Marvel Venompool style Chibi shirt. Nightcrawler and Beast are my biggest regrets grinding out for. Regret as in you didn’t get them, or regret because you got them and don’t realize how awesome they are? Nightcrawler unduped even is ungodly strong. You underestimate his power, young padawan. I said this on the Kabam forums I think, but I’ll repeat it here. Full disclosure: I’ve never been part of a development team, and have no first-hand knowledge. However, I’ve followed the development of multiple games, and many of the developers have alluded to or outright said this is the way things work. When a game is developed, a project team is formed. This team takes an idea, codes it into an actual working game, working in tandem with a graphic design team, game mechanics team, team, etc. Once they’ve finished the game, this team then hands the working game over to a smaller group designed to support the original product, add more content (or not), fix bugs, etc. The original team then moves on to the next project.

I compare it to the marines and the army. Marvel Venompool style Chibi shirt. The Marines go in first, take a piece of territory and secure it from enemy forces. The army is then brought in to hold the territory while the marines move on to take another contested area. Maybe not the best analogy, but that’s the way I think of it. This can go very good, or very bad, depending on who takes the reigns of the completed project. I started this game when the Venompool event was going on, so I guess smack dab in the middle of the 2nd generation? When you play through the story quest, you can see how the game has evolved over time compared to the event quests. The story quests feel more “raw”, and in some ways more difficult. The event quests are more polished and feel more “modern”. Also, the original reason for the contest was to obtain the iso-sphere. After completing all of Act 4, the only thing I can gather is that the iso-sphere was formed into an infinity gem? I was never really clear on that.

One last thing – the story isn’t really a compelling reason to play, but it’s one of the reasons I play through the quests. Marvel Venompool style Chibi shirt. I don’t really get the current mutant storyline, and I hope there’s a part 3 to tie things up. Seems they might be dragging this one out for a while. Also, notice Loki in the front of the mural on the current splash page? It seems to indicate that he’s running events behind the scenes. Maybe a lead-in to an Asgard type of story? You bring up a solid Point though, never looked at The characters this way. I do however think that some of the later Champions do their Job they aren’t as near as useful as the First gen Champions but they do come close. For the near future, nothing Will beat Thor, SW, SL etc in raw damage and Utility but there are a lot of ‘cheap’ alternatives now. For example, I don’t have a duped BW so I use my Elektra to fulfill her role. Although I am extremely fond of my Civil Warrior, He is an all-around solid champ IMO
