Luckily our center didn’t raise fees. I am however disappointed in the governments 100 hour a fortnight cap on care for the rebate. I work full time so need 5 days care which equates to 110 hours. So the full fee payment for the extra 10 hours means overall I’m worse off than with the old system.

It’s tantamount to saying that the child does not deserve 100 percent of the mother’s attention, 100 percent of the time. Give up some of the extravagant life so that you don’t have to work. Mothers have a right to work and provide for their children if they choose to do so. Also, just because a mother is working does not mean she does not have time for her children. Some mothers have no choice to work unless they want to be homeless with their children and have them possibly taken away by the department. And yet they have been and will continue to do so. Every time there is a child care “reform” they do so. And the increases don’t seem to filter down to the staff. What a surprise. Like the cost of living isn’t expensive enough, I feel for those people who have kids & paying a mortgage repayment just in child care every week. I guess that means “will do jack about it” if they are serious about it then DO NOT WARN and take action. An increase in the fees it’s just taking advantage of the new rebate plain and simple. We went up as well so the advantage we had it’s invalid!!
