Is there any reason you don’t want a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in stocking Merry Christmas shirt? They are lovely dogs and often the addition of Poodle can result in a more anxious, neurotic dog. Hybrid vigor in dogs is a myth if that was something swaying you towards a crossbred dog. Well, that’s not very nice. I wasn’t buying into a “fad” when I bought my Cavachon- I wanted a dog with the combination of traits from 2 breeds that I like, and that is what I have. She’s a delightful pet, not hurting the breed lines of bichons or cavaliers.

I have a Cavachon and she is a great dog and the breeder I got her from has well-socialized healthy dogs, and the breeding dogs are Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in stocking Merry Christmas shirt well. In my opinion, that is reputable breeding. Join the “Cavachon forum” over on the Book of Faces and you will get some good breeder recommendations. This subreddit has a lot of hate for popular mixes, including doodles and Cavachons. There are some good breeders, who have OFA registered breeding parents (important for cavaliers especially), and happy, healthy puppies. Cavachon /cavapoo / Cavalier are delightful little dogs. I would not recommend one from a rescue, however.

The reason doodles and other mixes are generally discouraged here is because they exist to make money and take advantage of a fad, not to improve a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in stocking Merry Christmas shirt, which is the goal of any good breeder. Mixes don’t breed true to themselves – you can’t breed a cavapoo and a cavapoo and guarantee a 50% split cavapoo. It’s also impossible to know for sure which traits from which breed the puppies will inherit, which makes breeding for a sound temperament very difficult.
