We used to have this giant fat one that seemed to love me so much. Back off I have a crazy pitbull mom and I’m not afraid to use her shirt. He would sit on the fence and squeak at me all the time. Because he knew I hat nuts. And well one day when I didn’t I got an ear full. It was funny though. A few months down the road someone tried to break into our house. And when they got caught running away by police. He told them that this giant squirrel attacked him. We laughed so hard and always made sure to have nuts for him. A hundred years ago We had a squirrel in old town Chicago who was like a troll. You couldn’t pass unless he got a croissant from the French pastry around the corner. I always wondered if he was getting peanuts under the table from the baker! Remember the squirrel that would sneak in the house and sit on the back of the couch watching you sleep?! You would wake and scream and then the squirrel would scream!? and that chipmunk that lived under the treadmill and would come out if he smelled McDonald’s?!
Back off I have a crazy pitbull mom and I’m not afraid to use her shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweatshirt, ladies tee.
When I was in high school, Back off I have a crazy pitbull mom and I’m not afraid to use her shirt. my mom friended a squirrel. She would make him a treat with a ritz cracker & peanut butter. We named him PB Ritz. He would come around the year & year. He would take the cracker very gently from our fingers with his paws. One year he showed up with a golf ball size tumour and he disappeared that summer. We were really sad. The next year, he returned with a large scar on his side. We joked that he had gone to the squirrel surgeon. He kept coming around until we moved a few years later. My late husband liked raw peanuts in the shell. One morning he was munching some and noticed a squirrel sitting on our deck railing and staring at him through the sliding glass doors. He opened the door and threw the little guy a few. The next morning the squirrel was back – with four of his friends! Fast forward 30 years. The spring after he passed away, I was weeding in the backyard and came across a pretty but unknown plant. I left it alone and it turned out to be a peanut plant! It regenerates every year and I have a lot of squirrel visitors!
