Another card that values overload that you didn’t mention is Cube. Are you alive or just existing shirt? I have been the linchpin of several archetypes, and the amount of value you often get with it is simply insane. You just need one massive card to stick at any point in the game (Skull, Voidlord, Doomguard, Giants, Krush, Kathrena, Mechanical Whelp, etc), and suddenly you have multiple of them. It’s a card that can singlehandedly destroy midrange decks. I think this isn’t talked about enough. Cube is a large part of this value-fiesta power creep that I personally find extremely unfun.
What is alive meaning?
Overall there’s just too much ‘value’ in Hearthstone. Everything has become so insanely powerful that the only place somewhat resembling Hearthstone right now is the Arena. How sad is that? Completely unnecessary correction, but the egg umbra cube play gets you three 8/8s due to also popping the first with a cube, using it itself as a death rattle activator of sorts. I also agree with the 7 mana cost bump. Hunter value combos would be much less oppressive if they had to wait for 8-10 mana while Umbra combo could still occur if you have the coin or include either coin creation or the 4/6 minion that reduces death rattle costs. Agreed. It’s the cheap enablers like a dark pact, play dead and naturalize that have caused cube to be oppressive. At least the rogue one is 5 mana, doesn’t have a heal or other bonus attached to it and if you want to prep it out that’s 2 cards.
Are you alive or just existing? shirt ladies, v-neck t-shirt, tank top, flowy tank.
Also, the dark pact made the 2/2 card good, play dead makes kathrena insanely swingy and naturalize has a similar problem with hadranox/witching hour. Rogue has the death rattle triggering weapon too and can play it the turn before for a 0 mana activation on Cube. the turn it drops. Cube is an awful card. It makes one player feel horrible whenever it’s played because it either doesn’t do anything, there’s nothing you could do to stop it, or is a mandatory silence/transform. Created high/low roll situations with Bloodreaver RNG summoning 5 Doomguards or only Void Walkers. Got a few cards nerfed by itself. The balance for your Cubelock example is that in the last 7 games I’ve played Skull has been in the bottom half of my deck, and I haven’t drawn it at all in 5 of those 7. That’s how they balance it. Having a decks performance rely on draw RNG is terrible for the health of the game and exactly what OP was complaining about with ‘ultimate infestation’ type cards.
Are you alive or just existing? sweater, hoodie, and long sleeve
Absolutely. I was being sarcastic. Are you alive or just existing? shirt. I’m a (very) casual player who might make it to rank 15 so I don’t really care about bad draws. I play things like Cubelock and Deathstalker Rexxar specifically. Because I don’t grind or pay enough to have more than one or two super loaded decks. But the same reason I play them (a crappy player who can RNG into wins) is exactly why they’re bad for competition. I absolutely fucking despise cube. Unless you have a silence or transform effect, the card will immediately win the game.
